OTISFIELD — The Otisfield Lake Associations meeting, sponsored by the Otisfield Conservation Committee, will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 13, at the Otisfield Town Office, Route 121.

Each year the four lake associations located in Otisfield and other surrounding towns gather for a lecture or educational session. At this time each lake association is given the opportunity to report their successes, current concerns and aspirations.

This year, motorboat horsepower and the natural environmental restrictions a particular lake exacts from people will be discussed. Lakes have delicate ecosystems and they can take limited stress.

Scott Williams, executive director of the Volunteer Lake Monitoring Program and an expert in limnology and lake ecology, will be present to answer questions and to provide scientific expertise.

Other lake associations and the public are welcome to attend.
