Bridge play

OXFORD — The Oxford Hills Duplicate Bridge Club met Oct. 22 in the Recreation Building on King Street. A six-and-a-half table Howell played as a Mitchell movement was enjoyed.

Finishing first in flight A were Neenie Kivus and David Lock; second, Lucille Theriault and Richard Balian; third, Richard Allen and Pete Cummings. First in flight B, Penny and Bob Thomas; second, Claire Lyons and Cynthia Clifford; third, Della Starbird and Denny Raymond.

First in flight C, Cindy and Bob Kirchherr; second, Priscilla Rooth and Hazel Glazier; third, Milt McKeen and Jim Krainin.

AARP meeting

SOUTH PARIS — The Oxford Hills Chapter of AARP will meet Monday, Nov. 1, at the First Congregational Church, East Main Street. A dinner of stuffed pork chops and all the fixings will be served at noon. The cost is $6.50 and reservations are required by calling Ruth at 744-9069 by noon Friday, Oct. 29.

The meeting will begin at 1 p.m. Those attending should bring their donation for Christmas for Kids. After the meeting, Adam and Jake Gaffen will entertain the group with stories and pictures of their trip to England.

Tables available

HARRISON — Crafters, bakers and vendors are invited to reserve a space at the Harrison Lions Club Silver Bells Craft and Vendor Festival, to be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 13.

Space is available for $20. The spaces fit an eight-foot table, which may also be rented for $10. Call Tricia Cook for a registration form at 776-5054 or e-mail [email protected]. All of the funds raised will go towards Christmas for Kids.

OTISFIELD — Girl Scouts of Maine will host a parent information and registration meeting at 6 p.m. Monday, Nov. 1, at Otisfield Community School.

Public skating

BRIDGTON — Bridgton Academy will offer public skating from noon to 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 31 and Tuesday, Nov. 2.

Cost is $4 for adults; students, grades one to 12, $3; children under 6 and seniors, $2. Rentals are available for $4. For more information, contact rink manager Matt Foye at 647-7637.
