NORWAY — The staff in the Emergency Department at Stephens Memorial Hospital joined together for Thanksgiving to help community members in need. The staff donated enough food items and money to make three boxed food donations to families who may not have been able to have a Thanksgiving meal.

Linda Fecteau, an emergency services technician, began talking about her idea to have the staff donate food for a box in October. By mid-November she had enough food and monetary donations to fill two boxes, and by the week of Thanksgiving, she had three boxes full of vegetables, potatoes, stuffing, cranberry sauce, desserts and gift certificates for turkey.

Nurse Director of Emergency Services Darlene Glover, RN, MSN, said, “We are grateful to be able to share with those who are struggling in this economy. That is what the holiday season is about.”
