Members of an honor guard from the Maine Military Funeral Honors Program of Augusta salute and take the casket containing the body of Army Pvt. Buddy McLain of Peru from Arthur Meader’s hearse on Wednesday on Franklin Street in Rumford to carry it into the Arthur Meader and Sons Funeral Home.

Army Pfc. Buddy W. McLain of Peru was honored at the Portland International Jetport, today. The Maine Army National Guard Funeral Honors team transferred McLain in preparation for a formal ceremony scheduled for Saturday at Mountain Valley High School in Rumford. McLain, a member of the 101st Airborne Division, died Nov. 29 in Afghanistan as a result of enemy fire.
