Pine Cone Chapter
AUBURN — A special meeting of Pine Cone Chapter 26, Order of the Eastern Star, will be held at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 4, at the Masonic Hall, 1021 Turner St.
The officers will be doing degrees. All Eastern Star members are invited to welcome the new member. Pine Cone has the travel emblem, “Mustang Sally.”
Refreshments will be served in the dining hall after the meeting.
Savvy caregivers
AUBURN — The Alzheimer’s Association Maine Chapter will present the Savvy Caregiver Program, a 12-hour training program for family caregivers of people with dementia. The sessions will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. Mondays, Jan. 10, 24 and 31 and Feb. 7, 14 and 28, at Auburn City Hall, 60 Court St.

Life screenings
AUBURN — Area residents can be screened to reduce their risk of having a stroke or bone fracture. The High Street Congregational Church, 106 Pleasant St., will host Life Line Screening on Wednesday, Feb. 2. Appointments will begin at 10 a.m.
Screenings identify potential cardiovascular conditions such as blocked arteries and irregular heart rhythm, abdominal aortic aneurysms and hardening of the arteries in the legs. A bone density screening to assess osteoporosis risk is also offered.

Makes honors
AUBURN — Collum E. Freedman of Auburn, a member of the class of 2013, has been named to the honor roll at Phillips Academy, Andover, Mass., for the fall term. To be named to the honor roll, students must maintain at least a 5-point grade average on a 6-point scale.
