The ads against the Clean Power Corridor imply that the 53-mile power line from West Forks to the Canadian border would pass through special Maine forests that would be compromised by the project.

In fact, most of this land has been working forest for generations. If one looks at the area on Google Maps, the network of forest roads and harvested areas is clearly visible. Many of the woods roads are wider than the 50-foot right-of-way for the power line. The power lines shown in the ad are several times wider than 50 feet.

There may be legitimate reasons to disagree on the project, but these ads that say that Maine forests will never be the same are just not true.
