Livermore voters to consider $5,000 for Brettuns Community Building repairs

The association that leases the town building would raise the rest needed to replace the furnace, fuel tank and hot water heater.

The town was approached about replacing the oil furnace at the Brettuns Community Building but Selectpersons want to review the lease first.

Interested parties will try to reach an agreement before the Feb. 15 Selectpersons meeting.

For years town officials have tried to get an easement to create a turnaround for snowplows and school buses at the end of Butter Hill Road.

The approval follows the addition of June 19th, the symbolic end of slavery, as a state holiday.

The board also passed a motion to move forward with assuming property at the end of Butter Hill Road.

Ongoing electrical issues with Engine I are the reason a new truck is needed, according to Fire Chief Donald Castonguay.

Engine 1 has ongoing electrical issues, making it unreliable.

The Town Office will close 4 p.m. Dec. 30 for staff to work on year end reports.

Amy Byron resigned from her position as treasurer in November 2020 without giving a reason.
